What Gets Deleted Immediately
The following data is permanently deleted at the moment you confirm deletion:
| Data type | Where it lived |
|---|---|
| Account profile (display name, email, user ID) | Firebase Authentication |
| Game progress (XP, coins, achievements, streaks, prestige) | Firestore users/{uid} |
| Battle history, quiz results, narration listening logs | Firestore users/{uid}/* sub-collections |
| Friend lists, clan membership, leaderboard entries | Firestore friends/, clans/, leagues/ |
| Personal Battle Journal entries (text + voice notes) | Local device storage + Firestore |
| GPS pin visit records | Firestore users/{uid}/gps_visits |
| Push notification tokens | Firestore users/{uid}/devices |
| Locally cached audio narrations and images | Device storage (AsyncStorage / file system) |
What Gets Retained (and for How Long)
For legal, security, and operational reasons, a limited set of data is retained after deletion:
| Data type | Retention period | Why |
|---|---|---|
| In-app purchase records (transaction IDs, product, amount, date) | 5 years | Tax law (Polish accounting regulations) and consumer-protection law require retention of payment records. |
| Anonymized crash reports (no user ID, no email, no name) | 90 days | Sentry default retention for app stability monitoring. After 90 days, crash reports are automatically purged. |
| Aggregated, fully anonymous analytics counts (e.g. "X people opened the app in May") | Indefinite | Aggregated data cannot be linked to any individual user. Used only for product decisions. |
| Server access logs (IP, timestamp, request path) | 30 days | Cloud Functions / Firestore default retention for security and abuse prevention. Automatically rotated. |
None of the retained data can be linked back to your identity after deletion. Personal identifiers (email, display name, Firebase UID) are removed at the moment of deletion.
Guest Accounts
If you played as a guest (without signing in with Google or Apple), there is no server-side account to delete. Guest data lives only on your device. To remove it:
- Open Settings in the app and tap Reset progress, OR
- Uninstall the app from your device, all locally stored data is removed by Android / iOS automatically.
What Happens to In-App Purchases?
Purchases (coin packs, season pass) are tied to your Google Play or Apple ID, not to your Echoes of Battle account. Deleting your Echoes of Battle account does not refund or transfer purchases, they remain on your store account but cannot be redeemed in this app once your account is deleted.
If you re-install and create a new account, previously purchased non-consumable items (e.g. season pass) can usually be restored via Settings > Restore Purchases, subject to store policy.
